Consistent quality for learning

This isn't my first time using Brilliant. I've come back a few times now, starting with algebra a while back and recently finished the neural networks course. The quality of the content has been consistently high across different subjects. I appreciate that their interactive approach hasn't changed; it's what keeps me engaged. It's reliable for picking up new skills or reviewing old ones. I'll likely use them again for data science next.

Solid Python course, good support

I purchased an annual subscription to try out their Python programming course. The ordering process was straightforward on their website. I got instant access. The course content itself was well-structured with clear explanations and useful interactive problems. I had a question about a specific coding challenge and contacted support; they responded within a day with a helpful answer. The platform generally felt responsive and intuitive to use. It's a good way to brush up on programming skills. I'm happy with the quality for the price.

Good value, minor app issue

I bought a subscription to access their machine learning content. The courses are quite comprehensive and offer good value for the price, especially compared to some other platforms. The interactive format is definitely a strength and helped me grasp complex ideas. My only minor gripe was that the mobile app sometimes lagged a bit when transitioning between lessons, but it wasn't a deal-breaker. Overall, a solid learning experience for anyone interested in advanced topics.

Cool way to learn AI

So I decided to finally learn about AI, and a friend told me about Brilliant. I got the annual plan for the artificial intelligence course. It was pretty fun actually. The way they do the problems makes you actually think instead of just reading. I learned a lot more than I thought I would. Definitely a good experience overall.

Loved the Calculus course!

I just finished the Calculus course and it was fantastic! The interactive problems really helped me understand difficult concepts. I've struggled with calculus before, but this made it click. I'm already looking at their physics courses next. Highly recommend Brilliant to anyone wanting to learn STEM topics!

Good for foundational math

I signed up for the foundational mathematics course. It was helpful. The interactive lessons made it easy to follow along. I finished it in about two weeks. Worth the subscription.

How do you even get a promo code to work on Brilliant? I found one online but I don't see anywhere to put it in when I'm trying to sign up.

D Danielle Martin 1 week ago
It's usually during the checkout process for the premium plans. You gotta get to the payment step and there should be an option to add a code.

A lot of their discounts are actually through special links, not traditional codes you type in. But if it's a code, it'll show up when you're about to pay for a premium subscription.

Hey, I'm trying to decide between Brilliant and Khan Academy for learning some data science. Any thoughts on which is better?

R Rachel Mitchell 4 weeks ago
Brilliant is way more interactive. Khan is good for explanations but Brilliant makes you actually DO stuff, which helps it stick. For data science, I think that hands-on approach is super important.

It depends on your learning style tbh. Khan is free which is a huge plus, but Brilliant's approach is more about guided problem-solving. I found Brilliant better for really understanding the 'why' behind things, especially for coding and data stuff.

Thinking of getting Brilliant for my high schooler, especially for competitive math. Is it actually helpful for that or just basic stuff?

R Richard Flores 1 week ago
From what I've seen, they have pretty advanced courses. My nephew used it for some contest prep and it really helped him with problem-solving strategies, not just memorizing formulas.

Yeah, it goes way beyond the basics. They have a whole section on competitive math prep and it gets into some pretty complex topics like number theory and group theory. Definitely not just 'basic stuff'.

Does Brilliant do a Black Friday sale? I want to get the annual membership but don't want to buy it now if it's gonna be cheaper later.

H Hannah P. 1 week ago
They almost always have a Black Friday deal. I'd wait if you can, usually it's a good chunk off the yearly price.

Yep, definitely. They usually have promotions around major holidays and sales events like Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Keep an eye out then!

Are there any student discounts for Brilliant? I'm in college and tuition is already killing me lol.

I Ian Lee 1 week ago
Yeah, there totally is! I got one last year, you usually just need to verify your student status. Check their site, it should be listed under discounts.

I think they do, afaik. It's usually a pretty decent percentage off the annual plan.
